Superstructure : Zirconia or E.max
Radiopaque or Translucent |
 |
2 techniques with 2 very different materials |
> Zirconia : |
(soft zirconia, 1155 MPa), Kavo Everest® system. Particularly radiopaque (so metallic inlay-cores can be accepted). Maximun lenght of 6 cm. |
> E.max : |
(lithium silicate, 400 Mpa) so called “Pressee Technique”, it’s vitro-ceramic, which offers 4 types of translucency (HT, LT, MO, HO), maximum lenght 4 cm. |
2 resistant superstucture materials, chosen according to clinical cases. The lamination of the ceramic is the same for both types of superstructures (E.max ceram from Ivoclar).
For our part, we recommend that you use the type of materials that correspond with your requirements :
Please note (for the E.max translucent material):
For the high-esthetic restorations, the tint of the tooth stump should not be under-estimated. It’s for this reason that this issue should be discussed during the choice of the lingotin translucency (HT, LT, MO, HO). This is particularly true where the tooth-stumps are strongly coloured. This is not an issue if using zircon material.
The result of an “all-ceramic” restoration is generally influenced by :
> The tint of the tooth-stump : natural stump, reconstruction of the stump and the stilt implant.
> The tint of the restoration : The tint of the superstructure, lamination, caracterisation.
> The tint of the cement
